About Me

My photo
I'm a 25 year old, mother of two. I have been a homemaker since the birth of my first child. I may seemingly have little to do with the world around me, due to the fact that my impact on the world goes unseen in a lot of ways. I take my job as a mother very seriously though, because it's not one life, mine, thats going to be affecting the world in my eyes, but rather the lives of my children that will make an impact. Therefore I'm doing the best I can, as I learn, to try to teach them how to live meaningful lives. I praise God for everything that I have and especially a newly found ability to paint. If it wasn't for the events good and bad that he's lead me thru and out of in my life I wouldn't be the person I am today. So in everything that I do I pray that He will get glory in it. I'm not perfect so that statement doesn't come with a guarantee, it is just simply a prayer and a hope for my life.

'Waiting'

I can't imagine what it must have been like, back before the days when motorized engines were readily available, before boats were propelled by machine rather than wind or man-power or even steam.
There were times where all that the sailors could rely on was God to give fair wind and favor for their travels.  This painting depicts the wife of a sailor waiting on shore as she can see the ship carrying her beloved husband in sight, yet even after the long wait while he's been months at sea, he is now within sight and she is still waiting.  The tide has to be just right in order for the ship to get close enough to the shore to anchor out and bring the crewman ashore.  Truly I think that the waiting is what sometimes makes that long awaited moment all the more joyous. I think Psalms 9:10 says it well, And those who have knowledge of Your Name will put their faith in You; because you, Lord, have ever given Your help to those who were waiting for you."  When we need patience to sit within sight of the very things we have waited on, we can always have faith that God will continue to give help and strength where it's needed.

God I pray, "Now may You who gives comfort and strength in waiting make Aunt Carla and all that are surrounding her of the same mind with one another in harmony with Christ Jesus…" Romans 15:5 (put into my own words).
